I've always been passionate about pregnancy and birth, reproductive justice, and mental health. Being a doula naturally combines all of those! After I attended my first birth, I was instantly drawn to being a birth partner. Shortly after, I expanded my expertise to becoming a postpartum doula and lactation counselor, and then gave birth to my own child in 2021. I love being a doula because it gives me the opportunity to educate birthing people and their families of their choices, to uplift them in advocating for their reproductive and mental health, and to validate their feelings, instincts, and celebrations. Every person deserves a supportive companion before, during, and after their birth.
With over ten years of experience as a preschool and art teacher, I have a deep sensitivity to the emotional needs of young ones. I love working with siblings of new babies to help nurture their natural curiosity of childbirth. When I am not being a doula, I am an artist and teacher. I make paper flowers and I am a painter. A self-proclaimed "kitchen witch," I enjoy making concoctions in my kitchen like tea and baked goods. I love spending time outside with my son Miles, laughing and relaxing with my wife Siobhan, and traveling to visit my friends across the country. |
